Des faillites en nette augmentation pour les start-ups de la French Tech

Déjà durant l'année 2023, on avait pu observer que les investissements étaient en recul dans le domaine de la French Tech. Mais on est depuis semble-t-il passé à quelque chose de beaucoup dur durant l'année 2024, avec une vague violente de faillites qui a été enregistrée. Un nombre de faillites record en 2024 Les chiffres que vient de dévoiler une étude de la plateforme ScaleX font mal à la French Tech. Selon cette dernière, le nombre de faillites de start-ups a explosé, avec 64 faillites enregistrées durant l'année 2024, ce qui correspond à une hausse de 64% par rapport à l'exercice 2023 ! ScaleX indique par ailleurs que sur les 1487 entreprises qui ont été analysées, 10,4% font face à un fort risque de faillite. Pour illustrer la difficulté du secteur actuelle, ScaleX a évoqué le cas d'Ynsect, entreprise de protéine d'insecte placée en redressement judiciaire le 3 mars dernier. Même les entreprises plus matures n'échappent pas à la vague Le schéma des faillites reste le même, avec une majorité d'entreprises faisant faillite durant les trois premières années après leur levée de fonds. « Les défaillances sont les plus fréquentes trois ans après un tour de financement, révélant souvent des faiblesses structurelles en matière de rentabilité et d'adaptation au marché » résume l'analyse. Mais les start-ups plus matures sont, phénomène nouveau, aussi touchées par les problèmes actuels. « Les startups âgées de 6 à 8 ans sont les plus touchées par les difficultés financières, ce qui souligne les défis du passage à l'échelle après la phase d’hyper-croissance » indique ScaleX. Enfin, autre signe d'un retournement, pour la première fois, on enregistre plus de faillites et de procédures collectives que de nouvelles levées de fonds en série A.
