이 기사는 2025년 03월 05일 14시53분 thebell에 표출된 기사입니다 명품 플랫폼을 향한 투자심리가 위축된 가운데 머스트잇이 투자 라운드를 본격 오픈하고 기업설명회(IR)를 진행하고 있어 관심이 쏠린다. 경쟁 업체인 발란과 트렌비가 기업가치(밸류에이션)를 대폭 낮추고 투자를 유치한 상황이라 업계 관심이 집중되고 있다. 5일 벤처캐피탈(VC) 업계에 따르면 머스트잇은 올해 시리즈C 라운드를 정식 오픈하고 기관투자자들과 접촉하고 있다. 조용민 머스트잇 대표는 "지난해 내실을 다지고 내부 경영에 집중했다면 올해부터는 본격 투자 라운드를 진행하고 있다"라고 언급했다. 머스트잇은 지난해 소수 기관투자자를 대상으로 IR을 진행했다. 먼저 요청이 온 투자자를 제외하곤 IR에 응하지 않았다는 게 조 대표의 설명이다. 특히 지난해 경영효율화 목적으로 구조조정과 조직개편을 진행하면서 내실 다지기에 집중했다고도 덧붙였다. 조 대표는 "목표 금액은 따로 설정하지 않고 진행 중"이라며 "온라인 명품 플랫폼 침체가 장기화할 것으로 생각한다"고 했다. 머스트잇은 10년 넘게 지속해 온 흑자경영 노하우를 살려 불황을 돌파하겠다는 계획이다. 오랜 업력으로 쌓아 올린 인지도를 바탕으로 마케팅비, 인건비를 비롯한 비용 지출을 최소화하고 있다는 게 회사 측 설명이다. 명품 플랫폼 투자심리가 얼어붙은 상황에서 진행하는 투자 라운드에 업계 관심이 집중되고 있다. 명품 플랫폼 '빅3'로 불리는 발란과 트렌비가 최근 밸류에이션을 대폭 낮추며 투자를 유치했기 때문이다. 발란은 최근 150억원 규모 신규 투자를 유치했다고 밝혔다. 화장품 유통기업인 실리콘투가 발란이 발행하는 CB를 인수하는 구조다. 1·2차 두 차례에 걸쳐 75억원씩 투자할 예정이다. 전환가액은 주당 6만1171원으로 책정됐다. 발란의 발행주식총수(47만7011주)를 고려한 프리밸류는 292억원 수준이다. 2022년 시리즈C 투자유치 당시 기업가치(3000억원)와 비교하면 몸값을 대폭 낮춘 것이다. 게다가 2차 투자를 유치하기 위해선 영업이익 흑자 달성 등 기준을 달성해야한다. 트렌비는 지난해 CB를 발행해 55억원을 조달했다. 트렌비가 발행한 CB는 IMM인베스트먼트와 한국투자파트너스, 에이티넘인베스트먼트, SL인베스트먼트 등 기존 투자사들이 나눠 인수한 것으로 파악된다. 전환가액은 주당 20만8721원이다. 트렌비의 발행주식총수(48만1569)를 고려한 프리밸류는 1000억원 수준이다. 직전 라운드에서 약 2800억원 기업가치를 인정받은 것과 비교하면 몸값을 낮췄다. 추가 투자 라운드도 진행하지 않고 있다.
