Expand our future. ~人類の生活圏を宇宙に広げ、持続性のある世界へ~」をビジョンに掲げ、月面資源開発に取り組んでいる宇宙スタートアップ企業。日本、ルクセンブルク、アメリカの3拠点で活動し、現在約300名のスタッフが在籍。2010年に設立し、Google Lunar XPRIZEレースの最終選考に残った5チームのうちの1チームである「HAKUTO」を運営した。月への高頻度かつ低コストの輸送サービスを提供することを目的とした小型のランダー(月着陸船)と、月探査用のローバー(月面探査車)を開発。民間企業が月でビジネスを行うためのゲートウェイとなることを目指し、月市場への参入をサポートするための月データビジネスコンセプトの立ち上げも行う。2022年12月11日には SpaceXのFalcon 9を使用し、同社初となるミッション1のランダーの打ち上げを完了。続くミッション2は2025年1月15日に打上げを完了し、今後、最速2025年6月6日に月面着陸に再挑戦の予定。ミッション3は2026年[i]、ミッション4(旧ミッション6)は2027年に[ii]打ち上げを行う予定。 ミッション1の目的は、ランダーの設計および技術の検証と、月面輸送サービスと月面データサービスの提供という事業モデルの検証および強化であり、ミッション1マイルストーンの10段階の内Success8まで成功を収めることができ、Success9中においても、着陸シーケンス中のデータも含め月面着陸ミッションを実現する上での貴重なデータやノウハウなどを獲得することに成功。ミッション1で得られたデータやノウハウは、後続するミッション2へフィードバックされている。更にミッション3では、より精度を高めた月面輸送サービスの提供によってNASAが行う「アルテミス計画」にも貢献する計画。
