No use without permission., Shutterstock Por: En un entorno donde muchas empresas tecnológicas enfrentan desafíos para acceder a financiamiento, la fintech especializada en crédito, Tala, ha logrado cerrar una línea de crédito hasta por 150 millones de dólares con fondos gestionados por Neuberger Berman. Este financiamiento será destinado exclusivamente a su expansión en los países donde opera, con énfasis en México. “Es un tema muy relevante en el contexto actual, si bien es complejo a nivel global, no significa que debamos detenernos. Por el contrario, debemos seguir adelante y mantenernos fieles a la misión que nos planteamos desde el principio”, indicó David Lask, director general de Tala en México. Desde su llegada al país en el 2018, Tala ha otorgado más de 15 millones de créditos a 3 millones de clientes. Pese a el avance en el acceso a crédito, la empresa ve una demanda aún mayor y una gran necesidad en el mercado mexicano, según lo mencionado por el director de Tala en México. “Con esta línea de crédito, no buscamos llegar a un segmento completamente diferente ni cambiar significativamente nuestro producto. Nuestro objetivo es ampliar el acceso para nuestro segmento actual y ofrecer a nuestros clientes un producto que realmente les ayude a crecer”, mencionó Lask. A nivel global, además de México, la financiera opera en Kenia, Filipinas e India, atendiendo a 10 millones de personas. Esto significa que la empresa otorga más de 1,000 créditos por hora, de acuerdo con lo indicado por Lask. En México, el financiamiento que otorgan asciende a los 500 millones de dólares. “Seguimos viendo una gran oportunidad y una demanda significativa en el mercado mexicano para ampliar el acceso a nuestros servicios”, destacó Lask.
