'日 여행 갈 때마다 샀는데…' 한국 진출에 '관심 폭발' 글자크기 조절 빔스, 잠실에 팝업스토어 국내 패션업계, 적극 유치 일본 패션 브랜드가 한국 시장에 잇달아 상륙하고 있다. 코로나19와 ‘노 재팬’ 여파로 주춤하던 일본 의류 브랜드에 대한 관심이 다시 살아나면서다. 27일 패션업계에 따르면 일본 최대 편집숍 빔스가 다음달 4일부터 5월 8일까지 롯데백화점 에비뉴엘 잠실점 지하 1층에서 팝업스토어를 연다. 빔스가 한국에 매장을 내는 건 이번이 처음이다. 1976년 도쿄 하라주쿠에서 시작된 빔스는 패션, 잡화, 인테리어 등의 제품을 판매한다. 일본 내 150여 개 매장을 운영 중이며 해외에서는 홍콩, 베이징, 타이베이 등에 진출해 있다. 아동복, 골프웨어 등 자체 브랜드 라인업은 물론 아크테릭스, 맥도날드와의 이색 협업으로도 잘 알려져 있다. 빔스는 수입 전문 업체 에프지에프를 통해 국내에 들어왔다. 빔스뿐만이 아니다. 스튜디오스와 비숍 같은 일본 편집숍이 한국에 진출하고 있다. 스튜디오스는 이달 초 서울 압구정에 매장을 열고 본격적인 영업을 시작했으며 비숍 역시 5월에 매장을 열 계획이다. 일본 패션 브랜드가 국내 진출을 본격화한 건 일본 의류 수요 증가세가 뚜렷하기 때문이다. 관세청 수출입통계에 따르면 지난해 한국의 일본 의류 수입액은 1억1433만달러로 2020년(6769만달러)보다 68.9% 급증했다. 패션업계 관계자는 “코로나19 이후 일본 여행이 재개되며 현지에서 직접 본 브랜드를 국내에서 다시 찾는 소비자가 늘었다”고 설명했다. 국내 패션 업체도 이런 흐름에 발맞춰 일본 브랜드 유치에 적극 나서고 있다. 한섬이 운영하는 편집숍 EQL은 일본 패션·잡화 브랜드 50여 개를 운영 중이다. 올해 1~2월 EQL 내 일본 브랜드 매출은 전년 동기보다 3배 이상 증가했다. 삼성물산이 운영하는 편집숍 비이커에서도 캡틴선샤인, 오라리, 코모리 등 일본 인디 브랜드를 잇달아 들여오고 있다. 특히 남성복 브랜드 캡틴선샤인의 지난해 매출은 전년 대비 33% 늘었다. 한 패션업체 바이어는 “한국인과 일본인 체형이 비슷한 게 일본 의류의 큰 장점”이라며 “한동안 노 재팬 정서로 주춤하던 수요가 코로나19 이후 빠르게 회복되는 양상”이라고 말했다. 그는 “일본 현지 브랜드도 내수 침체를 돌파하기 위해 한국 시장 진출에 속도를 내고 있다”고 덧붙였다. 일본 SPA 브랜드 유니클로의 반등도 이런 흐름을 방증한다. 지난해(2023년 9월~2024년 8월) 유니클로 매출은 1조601억원으로 전년 동기(9219억원) 대비 15% 늘었다. 백화점에서도 일본 브랜드의 매출 증가가 돋보인다. 롯데백화점의 유니클로, 데상트, 미즈노 등 일본 브랜드의 1~3월 매출은 전년 동기 대비 평균 20% 이상 늘었다. 롯데백화점 전체 패션 상품군 증가율(5%)을 크게 웃도는 수치다. 라현진 기자 raraland@hankyung.com 2 3
